Melissa "Mel" Stanger is a Brooklyn-based freelance writer, editor, and illustrator.

She is currently pursuing her master's in clinical social work at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.

Previously she was the site editor for Revelist, a website for millennial women, covering sex and dating, health, body positivity, and more. She has also served as the associate editor of lists and features at Business Insider.

A self-taught artist, Mel primarily works with watercolor, india ink, pencils, and gouache and focuses on cartoon-like illustrations.

Mel is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).

An amateur beer expert, Mel has written extensively on the craft and commercial beer industries and beer history.
